Looking for a schedule? Or the “Time Away Card”? Or perhaps you just want a little more info like… “What do I need to bring?”. You’re in the right place!
Questions first:
What is DNOW?
DiscipleNow is a weekend where small groups of Middle and High School students come together for Bible study, fellowship and learning about becoming a disciple of Christ. Separated by grade and gender, students will stay in the homes of vetted BHBC members from Friday night to Sunday morning. Each home will have a trained small group leader walking them through this year’s biblical teaching. We will experience four large-group worship events, four small-group sessions in homes, and a large-group recreation time.
What are the details?
Let’s go with the bullet points and keep it simple.

My student has a baseball/softball/lacrosse/soccer/dance/bowling/pottery/etc. activity that they can’t miss. Can they leave?
Absolutely! They just need to have a signed “Time Away Card”. Those will be available at registration. But if you want to fill that out now, click here to download and print the form (they are 4 to a sheet).
What are you doing? Is there a schedule?
Yes, we have a schedule. But also, it’s subject to change as we complete our behind-the-scenes preparation, so please keep that in mind. We will pass out the final schedule at registration.

Can my student room with their friend?
On the registration form there is a place to request a friend to room with. We do our very best to accommodate all requests. If you have more questions you can check in with us at the Walk-Up Registration table or contact kmeriwether@burnthickory.com.
What if I can’t come to the Kickoff Night on March 7th?
That’s okay! We will have registration set up again on Friday and you’ll get all of your info then. The kickoff night is an opportunity for you to meet your host home family, co-hosts, and the rest of the students in your house. It’s a great way to get to know everybody, but if you can’t come, it’s not a big deal breaker.
What if I can only come for the evenings?
We have an option for that! We have a program only option for $20 that includes dinner on Friday and Saturday, the large group bible teaching times on Friday and Saturday evening as well as our new Radiate Students t-shirt. What a great deal! You won’t have a house assignment, but you’ll get to hang out and be part of worship and hear our special speaker.
Click here and choose the Large Group Event Registration for $20.
What happens at registration?
That’s a great question! On our kickoff night, March 7th, you’ll come in the main lobby at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church and we will have greeters to show you the way to our registration area. There will be tables set up by grade. You’ll go to your grade table and tell them your name and they’ll give you a card with all of your information on it. Then you’ll look at your card and find the Host Home you’re staying at and go find your host home table to meet the other students in your group for the weekend.
We’ll have a table set up at the front to answer questions and we will also have walk-up registration if you didn’t get to sign up before the online registration deadline.
What are the rules for the weekend?
The guidelines are listed below to (A) provide for you the very best spiritual environment free from as much of the world’s influence as possible, and to (B) protect you from any physical, mental, emotional, social, or spiritual harm during the weekend.
1. Absolutely no changing homes unless cleared by Matt Petty.
2. Devices are not allowed in small group or large group sessions, except to read Scripture. And Hosts will not give Wi-Fi passwords.
3. No unnecessary physical contact (your love life is on hold for the weekend).
4. No leaving the Host Home without a “Time Away Card” which gives parent permission. If you need to come late or leave at any point during the weekend, fill out a “Time Away Card” signed by your parents. Give it to your Host Friday night.
5. Be on time for all events at the church and designated lights out, as shown on the schedule. Be respectful to your Host all weekend, including with the schedule.
6. If you drive, you must leave your car at the church for the weekend. The only exception is if you have a “Time Away Card” signed by your parents. In that case, if your car is at the host home, turn keys into your Host when you arrive on Friday night.
7. No drinks, smokes, tokes, chews, vapes, porn, weapons, or illegal substances.
8. Any pictures posted must be tagged with #radiatebelong.
9. Respect all other persons and property, especially that of your Host family. Absolutely no rolling/forking/pranking of any kind!
10. Remember the purpose of this weekend, for you to grow in their faith in Jesus!
